On March 14, my country's "deep-ground project" implemented in the field of oil and gas exploration and development made another major breakthrough. Sinopec announced that the vertical drilling depth of Shunbei 84 inclined well located in the Tarim Basin has exceeded 8937.77 meters, becoming the deepest vertical depth of 1,000-ton well on land in Asia.

The so-called thousand-ton well is actually an oil well with a daily oil and gas equivalent of more than one thousand tons. During the testing of Shunbei 84 inclined shaft, the staff obtained high-yield industrial oil and gas flow, with daily crude oil and 653,000 cubic meters of natural gas, and the converted oil and gas equivalent reached 1,017 tons. This is also the deepest 1,000-ton well on land in Asia.

Cao Zicheng, deputy chief geologist of Sinopec Northwest Oilfield : Shunbei Oilfield has currently implemented 18 favorable oil-containing gas belts. Shunbei 84 inclined well is located in belt No. 8 of Shunbei Oilfield, which is the 22nd outlet discovered in Shunbei Oilfield. With a daily output of 1,000 tons of wells, the reserves of this oil and gas field are very large, and the prospects can be said to be very broad.

Staff told reporters that it is extremely difficult to exploit oil and gas in a strata 8,000 meters above the ground. China has mastered ultra-deep reservoir stereo imaging technology and fine engraving technology for slits, and the recognition accuracy has been increased from 30 meters in the past to 15 meters in the present. This is equivalent to CT scanning of the oil and gas storage area more than 8,000 meters away from the ground, improving the mining accuracy.

Today, in Shunbei Oil and Gas Field, there are 49 wells with a vertical depth of more than 8,000 meters, marking the successful exploration and development of the deepest buried oil and gas field in the world.

Shunbei Oil and Gas Field is located in the central and western part of the Tarim Basin, and the Tarim Basin is known to have ultra-deep oil and gas resources ranked first among major basins in the country. The average burial depth of the oil and gas reservoir in Shunbei Oil and Gas Field is more than 7,300 meters, making it one of the deepest commercially developed oil and gas fields in the world.
